Vancouver School of Music for the Visually Impaired
Design is about empathy. This is especially true when designing for the blind. This school is about bringing sighted and non-sighted people together to share music. The drawing set is embossed so that both parties can read them. Chris Downey, a blind architect, was an informative precedent for certain aspects of the building. Acoustics, wayfinding, and materiality are all focuses of the project.
